The mares
We have practiced free-range breeding for many years.
We have several stallions that live with the mares year-round. In this way, we have observed that horses, mares, colts, and fillies are passed down from older to younger generations, an inexplicable array of instincts and knowledge that undoubtedly helps them, or will continue to help them, survive within the group. We believe that in order to select a horse or mare for its morphology and function, it must first have acquired from the field everything essential to becoming what it is: a Spanish horse. The character, the gaze, the intelligence, and the strength of our horses are a reflection of their dangerous, harsh, and joyful freedom.
